My philosophy about the world of Ceramics has been constantly changing and evolving into new representations of the medium. I have been inspired by artists such as Robert LeFine, Joyce Michaud, Takao Okazaki, Steven Hill and many, many others. I strive to interact with accomplished artists through workshops and classes. I am currently attending Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. I am in the Ceramics MFA program. I graduated from Mansfield University in 2004 with a BSE in Art.
My body of work ranges from function works, which allow the user to interact with the art on an everyday basis, to sculptural forms which are meant to enrich the environment in which we live. I have over the years developed a deep appreciation for the interaction between the potter and the clay. Some believe that the potter gives life to the clay. I believe that the potter gives form to a unity between their creative soul and life that the clay intrinsically possesses.
